How do the pipes inside Bowser work?

I'd imagine most people would know what would happen if Bowser goes into a pipe leading into himself.

And I have to agree with the "warp pipes have interdimensional warp hole thingies in them", given how it explains some of the farther reaching pipes without the mental image of the entire underground of Plit being covered in endless pipes.
