Who do you think they are ? Why were they the only Toads in the intro ? Why and how can they imitate Mario and Luigi's skills ?
Here's my theory.
They are inventors (or wizards, depending of the point of view). Blue Toad created the Penguin Suit, Yellow Toad created the Propeller Mushroom. Those are the first artificial power-ups ever made.
They profited that it was Peach's birthday to show her the new power-ups, that could help Mario in a later adventure (thus why you see them in gift boxes in the intro).
And they can imitate Mario and Luigi's skills by using science (for instance, they have small springs under their shoes to allow them to jump high, and wear beige special gloves that allow them to break bricks).
Your thought ? Your theory ?

I like to think that they're the same Blue and Yellow Toad from the Toad Birgade, whom as we all know, were the only Toads who ever got off their butts and actually did something to help Mario.

I like Koopalmier's idea. Other power-ups did seem natural. Propeller mushrooms and Penguin suits, not so much.

What happened to the red and green Toads then? Okay, the leader's a coward, but the other guy? They're off patrolling some other part of the Mushroom Kingdom or something. It's not like they don't have the sense to split up, right? |

By the way, does anyone besides me believe the old article saying the internal name for them was Ala-Gold and Bucken-Berry, and actually uses them? I do have an intense dislike for characters without any names. *COLOR* Yoshi is already bad enough, but to do that with Toads who have cities and civilization and computers and stuff?

But Toad Brigade's Blue Toad has glasses. And I don't remember Toad Brigade's Yellow Toad actually helping Mario, as he's extremely lazy and almost always sleeps. Artemendo : Someone from NoA (I think) was asked that, and he answered by those (ridiculous) names after thinking a few seconds. As if he made them up. Which I believe. I don't think it's a reliable source. Not that it matters anyway, it's not like we'll ever see Blue Toad & Yellow Toad again. |

Well, no matter the veracity of his statement, I still find those names to be better than the colors. It's like calling people "Pink Human" and "Brown Human".

Don't forget about Frog Suits, Tanooki Suits, and Hammer Suits. They had to have been designed by someone, too. Hammer Suits are made by the Koopa army, so I agree with you there. Tanooki/Frog Suits are debatable, though. |

If the Ancients invented the power-ups, they could have made the Tanooki and Frog suits too. I didn't word my sentence well, I meant the first power-ups made by the Mushroom Kingdom (if we say the "normal" power-ups reproduce themselves naturally and are thus natural items).

Well I have my own personal names for all of the Toad Brigade Toads Red: Toad (lol at the name but isn't he the toad named Toad) Blue: Simon (cookie if you get the reference) Yellow: Sleepy (I really couldn't think of anything else) Green: Pickaxe Banktoad (Just his job mixed with the fact that he almost always has his pickaxe) Purple: Scuba Mailtoad (Kinda the same thing as green) This is kind of sad... the only original one was Simon and that one was just a reference.  |

Speaking of Blue Toad, if it's the same one in SMG1&2, isit possible he's the same as the one in SMS?
