I know this isn't Mario-related, but someone made a Topic on a 360 game, so a 1st Party Nintendo game Topic wouldn't hurt. I could hardly wait through school today, because as soon as I got out, I would head over to the local GameStop and pick up my reserved copy of Metroid: Other M! To my surprise, I received a free Art Folio of the games CG cutscenes(as a pre-order bonus), and once I got home, I was ready to play. So far I've made it through the first boss, and I have quite enjoyed myself, I mean, you would think using a D-Pad for movement in a 3D game would be difficult? Right? Well, it actually works as well as an Analog-stick(surprised, right?), and switching to FP(for Scanning objects, and firing Missiles) is seamless. I will update this as soon as I've cleared the campaign, but I'll try not to spoil it for those who haven't yet played. Let me know what you thought of this game, and if you've had a chance to play it yet. Thanks - EpicGyllynn

1. It's not out yet where I live. 2. It looks exceedingly boring. 3. I won't buy it. 4. Just because someone once made a non-Mario-game topic doesn't mean we all have to. 5. If you want discussion about that game, can't you simply go to GameFAQs? They must be bubbling with people who just bought it.

Actually, Artemendo, twelve of the "Console Board" post are non-Mario related, and all but one are Nintendo related. So I doubt this will hurt, let alone in the OUT-OF UNIVERSE discussion! I hate GameFAQs, too, but I may post a review on GoNintendo.

From what I can tell, way too many long cut scenes, a cliched story that's outright offensive in some sections and a whole lot of linearity. I liked it until I read about the hour odd worth of cut scenes and stuff, but have honestly decided I'll wait until a better acclaimed Metroid game to maybe try that series again.

Well, some f the Cutscenes are a little cliche, but overall it's fun. Also, I never really played the other Metroid games(I got Super Metroid, but I haven't played much left), so it's perfect for me because I can't get offended. I'm happy with it, and the Art Folio is simply amazing.

>Samus breaks down in tears after she sees Ridley, after killing him four times before. >Ridley is cloned and has a ridiculous furry form that looks like a Furby. >Mother Brain is resurrected as some kind of human form that has the hots for Samus. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaah...

Correction, he had only "died" ONCE before. That time being Super Metroid. And she doesn't cry she only freaks out and is unable to move. You would be like that two if the dead dragon who killed your parents when you where like 4 tried to kill you(Not to mention Ridley is RIPPED in that game).
Completely unexpected and awesome. Whats cliche about that?
Like the Ridley thing, completely unexpected and awesome. The story was awesome. And what made you think she had "feelings" for Samus? I never got that impression. My only complaint is that the game only took me about 9 hours to complete.

Meh, I probly won't be able to get this for a while, but the GameFAQs comments on it are really making me think otherwise about getting it. Then again most of the guys who come to the Nintendo boards on GameFAQS are troll elitists anyway

Then again most of the guys who come to the Nintendo boards on GameFAQS are troll elitists anyway ...And thats why I don't use GameFAQ's anymore. Keep in mind that the story is relatively short(approximately 9 hours for me to complete it). But the best part is that you can go back through the Bottle Ship collecting all the secrets and power-ups you missed the first time around, and you even get an epic Boss fight(possibly the best in the game).
