It was called "Dinosaur Island" in the GBA version, and was always called like that in the French ver. anyway.

So... Is it acceptable for me to use that terminology considering that French is a direct translation?

But Dinosaur Land isn't an island. It is a group of medium-sized islands

I think it's "Islands", you know, like plural. And it IS the Japanese name... soooo I guess it's okay! Heres a quote from Super Mario Wiki backing up what Koopalmier said: "Dinosaur Land (also known as Dinosaur Island on the remake's official site, and Dinosaur World in the cartoon), is a land in the Mushroom World and the region in which Mario, Luigi and Peach go on vacation in Super Mario World. As usual, Bowser kidnaps Peach and Mario and Luigi must defeat him to rescue her."

Actually, the official Japanese name, from what I can tell, is "Dinosaur Land" (恐竜ランド). "Dinosaur Island" (恐竜島) is a tritocanonical variant used in some of the Japanese spinoff books and manga.

Thanks ! It indeed is "Dinosaur Land", after checking.

Seems like a universal currency. (Star bits aren't really currency they are just something that tastes good)

I think you got that backwards. Obviously, the Starbits are the universal currency! ... ...You know, cause it's in space...? ... ...I'm sorry.

I still stick with most Nations having different currencies, but they are all similar.

If I made a compliment each time I lol'd at your jokes, then your two next months would be made, ruining your life and humor and probably spreading an invasion of human-eating penguins in a way or another.
On-topic: do you think the Koopa clan uses a different currency ?

Ironic, considering the fact that I'm replaying Pokemon Platinum with a Piplup as my starter. </offtopic> Well, once you think about how Bowser is able to pay for everything in Broque Monsieur's shop with the exact same coins that Mario & Luigi use for the shops in Toad Town, I'm guessing it's rather plausible that Dark Land has the same currency.

I don't see why it wouldn't be the same currency. If Bowser had to exchance his kuupos for coins every time he went to Mushroommart... Mushroommart would get robbed more often.

If this were 1990, I'd say that Bowser mints counterfeit MK coins with a slightly lower gold content to make some dishonest money.
Since it's not, and Bowser is an egomaniac, I imagine him minting coins to the same standard as MK coins (so interchangeable) but with his face instead of the star on the obverse. Identical reverse.

What about the incredibly valuable Frog Coins in Super Mario RPG, which were only used to buy stuff from the people of Tadpole Pond? Neither ever showed up in future Mario games, but I always thought it was neat the frogs had their own currency even though they had little actual relevance to the Mushroom World as whole.

Well, Coal Towns used to print their own Currencies that were only valid in that Town, so I don't think the Mushroom Kingdom would have much to say about a small tribe of Frogs at a pond doing the same thing.
