Or "2 reasons for which the 3DS hates me". If anyone has answers to these questions, it'd be nice, thanks. 1 - The size of the screensI have eye problems. I can't see what's going on on a small screen like the DS'. That's why the DSiXL is my favorite console ever. But, why didn't they make the 3DS with the size of the DSiXL ? It perfectly fits in the pocket, the images are bigger and - most important - the screens are bigger so you can better see what you're doing. I really hope Nintendo releases a 3DSXL. But I doubt they will... 2 - The 3D effectSure, you can adjust the 3D effect depending of your vision, but... my left eye is nearsighted and my right eye is farsighted. Won't I have problems ? Plus I have a pathologic nystagmus, won't the 3D effect hurt my eye muscles ?

Your near-sighted in one eye too? I knew I wasn't the only one!
On-topic, It makes sense Nintendo would release a 3DSXL actually. No doubt they're aware some people wouldn't be able to see it as well as others.

I doubt the nystagmus is going to be a problem if you keep your eye within the effect angle - after all, you are spending a lot of the time behind the computer and don't seem to have a problem with that.
3DSXL, man, that just looks like a bunch of letters thrown together. But there is a big chance they'll make one... in a couple years.

The DSiXL was made for old people who can't see well. The 3DS is clearly made for people who can see well - that excludes young people and old people. Making a 3DSXL would be useful to nobody. And I don't want to be able to play PM3DS and MK3DS in a couple year only. I can't even see well what's on those screenshots. ;_; I guess I'll have to get used to a very small screen...

They might make a 3DSXL but until then I guess you just have to live with the small screen.

Oh my Grease and Gravy...
I now want the 3DS more than ever!
...Still doesn't change the fact that it's so tiny, though.

After all we'll get used to the small size. A 16/9 screen always looks well, no matter its size.

I don't care so much about the size when this thing will probably SELL BETTER THAN THE WII. If this is the technology for new handhelds I can't wait to see what the next Nintendo console has in store.

I wonder, they say you have to be exactly facing the screen, right ? Can you still see the 3D if you focus on a single eye ? For some reason, I tend to ignore my left eye...

Isn't there a knob on the 3DS that can turn the 3-D effect off?

I'm pretty sure they mentioned you can adjust it, but I don't think it was a knob.

There's no point in getting a 3DS if the main gimmick is disabled. I want to see some 3D action.

If you are physically unable to see the 3-D action without hurting your eyes though, wouldn't it be better to just play the games without the 3-D effect.

So I finally saw the 3DS in action the other day. For some reason, all this time I thought the 3D images would be projected outward like in a 3d movie. But it's actuality more like peering into a portal which the effects go back into. I never thought about that till now. I actually feel kinda silly.

It is the first of its kind, so you can't expect it to be perfect

I tried looking at one and it didn't seem any more 3D than a PS1. Maybe I wasn't looking at it right, or maybe it's my glasses.

Did you adjust the slider on the side?

Are you sure you were playing a 3DS game? Were you looking at it correctly. (Correctly means looking at at an angle where you can look at it for 2 seconds and not get eye strain.)
