How come there seems to be an attitude in some places that human characters means they had to have come from Earth somehow? Because as far as I know, there's nothing stopping the species, or one which is nearly identical in appearance from evolving on Mushroom World like any other species did (and with species like the Toads and people from Paper Mario games, it would seem fairly plausible such a thing could happen).
Basically, just a few things I'd like to say in possible defense of this idea:
1. It's only seems to be the Mario fandom which associates human characters with Earth. Series like the Legend of Zelda and such don't take place on Earth as far as I can tell, yet no one has a problem with humans being a native species of Hyrule or Termina.
2. The Mushroom World/Plitt/whatever the current name for it is isn't likely to be in the same universe as Earth, and may even be an alternate universe equivalent. For all we know, various 'Earth' species could have evolved in a similar way in Mario's world as they did in the real one.
3. How does anyone know any of the characters that seem human are as such? They look like they are, but didn't people argue, maybe here, maybe elsewhere that maybe Princess Peach might be part Toad or something? Not to mention the rather weird situation in the movie where the humanoid characters from Mushroom Kingdom were evolved dinosaurs.

Putting the Movie reference out of my Mind, I agree with you mostly, I think it's fairly plausible that Humans exist on Amana(My Term for the Mushroom World) that are not From and may not even Know of Earth's Existence!

Well that's an interesting term, and it has a nice ring to it. But I agree, it's plausible the human characters in the Mario series know of Earth no more than say Bowser does.

I know, also, I'm tired of people misquoting Myamoto, and basing their ideas of Mario's Origin on fanon! Myamoto said the the sewer system in Mario Bros. was BASED on NYC, he never said it was set there! There's a Big difference, like saying that because Olimar's name is based off Mario's, that Olimar is Mario! That's ridiculous! Some people even claim that after PiT(Past), the Bros Parents sent them to the Real World to save them from the Koopa's! If my (Non-existent)son could save the Planet from a Hostile Alien race with Advanced Weaponry, I wouldn't be too worried about Bi-pedal Turtles!

Anyone who argues it's fear of the Koopas or whatever doesn't know what Mario's been through: They beat Bowser at least twice as kids, and heck, if you count Yoshi's Island, they beat adult Bowser twice as well. As for the Miyamoto misquoting. I know exactly how you feel. Like with the Donkey Kong Country hatred from people taking a quote out of context.

I never really thought that any of the humans were originally from Earth. Humans do seem to be rather few and far between, so I guess you could say that they're not the most common species in the world.

Yeah, they aren't exactly the Dominant Race in Amana(Mushroom Earth), not like here on Earth, anyway!

True. Not sure if I quite blame them for that to be honest, the wildlife in Mushroom Kingdom is a lot more vicious than in the real world. I don't think natural selection is exactly on their side (well, it's technically somewhat random, but the odds are stacked against them). Of course, why Toads haven't gone extinct, I don't know, they pretty much can't do anything outside of Super Mario Bros 2 and New Super Mario Bros Wii.
Or maybe it's just that... well, there aren't really that many dominant species in the Mario series. There's a wide variety of enemies, sure, but rather few of each type.

It'd happens the MW doesn't have a main population. However it'd also happens humans are somewhat rare.
The only human village we've seen for now is Twilight Town. However almost every political head we've seen was human.

However almost every political head we've seen was human. Well, we assume the human like characters are human, they could be completely different biology wise in many cases. I still can't figure out why the political heads of state are human though. At least not in a way free of extremely unfortunate implications.

If the political heads were once human, and the only persons allowed to be the next political head would be the descendant, then it'd explain why almost every political head we've seen is human.
And we assume they're human because, well, the MW is a fictional place based on reality, thus on Earth. That's why many Earth-like features are there. Including humans.

I think that maybe humans came to ME a long time ago, but now they are a rare species since no other humans have found ME

No, if they come from Earth they would have an higher technology. But MW's humans are quite... primitive-ish. Not like cavemens, but like people from two centuries ago in Japan.

That is why I said that humans came to ME a long time ago. If they came before any high tecnology was made, then they would never find out about that technology.

I mean, to get there, they must have used a space vessel, right ? And a very powerful one with that, considering the MW is in another galaxy, if not in another galaxy cluster.

They found a warp pipe to the ME. you don't need any advanced technology to stumble into a warp zone.

We have a lack of proof when it comes to Warp Pipes being found on Earth. Also, as powerful as Warp Pipes are, I doubt they are powerful enough to be connected with light-years between the entry and the exit. Too much matter between both opening. Maybe kilometers, maybe dozens of kilometers, but surely not billions and billions of light-years.

Well considering that some thories say that Mario and Luigi traveled to Brooklyn through a warp pipe and eventually came back to the MK, I say that some other humans could have done it as well.

But the GB remake of Donkey Kong, and the Donkey Kong Land series, proved that this theory was wrong.

^This. Because DK Arcade games took place in Big Ape City (and to the guy many months back who asked why DK got no help or such, remember it's inhabited by Kremlings).
Although the Mushroom World humans aren't all primitive. I don't think for example E Gadd is, and the Wario Land series characters (whether WarioWare is Mushroom World is for debate) seem fairly modern culturally and technologically.
