Something I'm confused about is the existence of the Angry Sun. Is this an actual sun in the literal sense with a face or just a rogue star spirit? Or maybe it is something else?
It would seem weird that the Mushroom World's own sun would go against Mario.

Maybe it's just an overgrown hot head or some sort of a big fry guy.

((Woot Meta Black Yoshi has return-ed too)) Considering that it dies when it hits a koopa shell, can regenerate, and doesn't cause the world to end when it dies ((And it doesn't kill Mario just by being close to him)) I don't think it is anything close to a sun. I mean really, its about the size of Mario for crying out loud. It can't be the sun

It's not the sun. It's just a powerful enemy with a clever camouflage mechanism.

Well if that is the case then I wonder who is behind the camouflage. Maybe a Lakitu?

I think it's its own species.

That would explain why it keeps coming back, but I'm guessing that there aren't many of them since they don't appear often and they never attack in numbers.

Yeah, it's probably strong enough that it doesn't need vast numbers in order to keep its species alive.
