In my continued effort to finally finish a ME Map better than the ones from back in 2005, I have started to research the maps of Mario RPG and Paper Mario and see similarities and differences as I play RPG for the first time (finally). Right now: Mario's Pad is to the southeast of Darkland, but how far is unknown. Mushroom way is the same as in Paper Mario, but it has no Goomba village. I think that Goomba Village is an alternate beginning to Mushroom Way, making the entire route a large Y. Bandits' Way = Part of path to Koopa Village/KB Castle for sure. Toad Town is much bigger in RPG, so it should be assumed that the town is only partly revealed in Paper. But what about the castle being in the middle of the city? That's solved by a simple retcon; Peach has her own castle near Star Path that also has a Mario Kart Track that was not put in Paper Mario due to graphical reasons. This will be updated whenever I get further. I just started playing today. UPDATE: Rose Town is still in the Mushroom Kingdom, a little southwest of the Paper Mario world map. The giant woods may be partly the west edge of the field place in Paper. The mole village? IDK The Kero sewers are part of the giant sewer system in Paper, obviously.

Uh, what? Toad Town is much bigger in RPG? I'd say it's much larger in Paper Mario. It spans about 8 screens in that game and only one inSMRPG.

Yea and plus in RPG there isn't near as much stuff in Toad Town, I mean in Paper Mario Toad Town is pretty much the "hub" area

I kinda meant how every building in the town is really big, but now that I think about it... it seems way incorrect.

Yes you did actually... I combined the best of Peach's Castle area geography together and I realized that the Toad Town in MKWii is the same look as in SMRPG, even having the castle there in the same vicinity. Obviously, Peach Raceway in MK64 was remodeled a bit and extended to create Mario Circuit Wii, and the enviornment in SM64 in difference to MKWii could just be that SM64 took place before even SMRPG and some time after, Peach built new city areas to extend Toad Town all the way to her castle. The waterfall's missings from MKWii is something I can't explain right now, so I'll put it at "Lazy Developers".

The nearest volcano (so far) to Toad Town is Lavalava Mountain.
Also, with Toad town, I hadn't put M&L:SSS into account yet, so that makes it more confusing...

Don't you mean Partners in Time?

I thought that Toad Town was partly in M&LSSS, right before they board Bowser's Airship in the beginning, but I haven't played that game in years (I lost it right after I got it). If it's in PiT, that make it even more complicated, unless it's in the past time.

Oh yeah, it's slightly in SSS. But immediately after it they fly away, so it shouldn't be a big issue. In PiT, however, it's a major area that you enter near the end of the game.

I don't have PiT so I wouldn't know

It's one of the few areas with no boss, and is directly ''south?'' of Peach's Castle.
It Is in the past though, so it's appearance there shouldn't cause much concern, seeing as how often it gets remodled. Actually, it probably had to be, seeing as how it was practicly destroyed.

Only the area where Peach's castle was uprooted and when it fell back down there was almost no difference in the ground

I've also done some research on SMRPG and PM as well as other games but have to do some more research as I'm re-doing all my maps. A lot of other places i have yet to add. Read my other threads for more detail. Those ight be changed however.
