That could work. But what about the remake of DKR? Does that replace Banjo & Conker or only add Tiny and.... the other new character? And what about the stories of Banjo Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge and Banjo Pilot (if that's even canon in the Rare Universe)? They canon as they were released in 2003 and take place in between 1 & 2, I believe.

We are talking about the Nintendo Universe so technically (unless you count the firsr couple of games before the split) no Banjo Kazzoie game counts

I generally like to consider the first one to be canon due to its higher quality, but that's just me. (Why did they have to put in TINY KONG? Come on now. Derrrr....we need a heavyweight to replace Banjo! Uh...let's put in the Dixie clone! GAH! Put in Kiddy you numbskulls!) As for GR and BP, those are also up for debate seeing as they weren't published by Nintendo.

Or we could add both characters.
Actually, according to the debate, so is DKR, seeing as the original was the only game Rare ever published on the N64 (Not Nintendo either).

Huh? Rare published a lot of games on the N64. Not only Diddy Kong Racing but also Donkey Kong 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Goldeneye 007, Mickey Speedway USA, and Jet Force Gemini...

Oh, wait. I looked and I guess I only remember that from back when I didn't have JFG, because I looked at that and saw that it was published by Rare. I didn't know that DK64 is Rare-published. But Kazooie and Tooie are both published by Nintendo. Even the old NPs say that. I learn a lot more when I get corrected by you and Dude Huge on Nintendo City Forums On topic, The Yoshi universe can't be very seperate at all. Every game in the series contains only characters from the Mario Games. Also, the Zelda Universe should be on there because of the fact that in Link's dream (if it even was), many characters, even Wart (Subcon!) and a Chain Chomp, are in it, and in Four Swords Adventures, there are Maro enemies in some sidescroll caves ( A cheep cheep and even a goomba if I remember right.).

There's plenty more than just that in Link's Awakening. Pokeys, Mask Mimics (aka Shy Guys), Thwomps, etc. I agree with the Yoshi universe. The only barrier that separates it is the passage of time, seeing as the Yoshi games are all chronologically first. The Zelda universe...kinda. It should be labeled as having a passageway connecting the two, but not as part of the universe.

Maybe Metroid games have something to do with Mario also...

Metroidverse doesn't really matter because it takes place in a far-off galaxy. It could be in any universe except probably Kirbyverse and F-Zeroverse.

The only reason I put the Eggic Universe with even a slight seperation was because it has its own symbol. Smash Bros. may not be 100% canon, but the universal symbols split up all other universes pretty well.
As for all those other universes...the reason I didn't put any links to them is because of the different physics operating in those universes. For example, a lot of water in the Mushroom Universe is oxygenated, while most other universes don't have such a property. The Link's Awakening phenomena can be explained through a puncture of some sort, but it's trivial in the big picture.

The 3-D Mario games are the ones that don't have oxygen maybe it is that Mario and Luigi can only handle 2-D's of water

...Or maybe people are reading to much into it and forgetting that an air meter (if possible back then, which is doubtful) would make underwater levels incredibly tedious.

That's probably the right answer btw Toomai, they're in Four Swords too, and that wasn't a dream or anything.

But Four Swords was with 4 Links. No one knows what changes happen when you are cloned

Cloning isn't that bizarre. It's not going to cause mass chaos or anything.

Forget it. That was in the Zelda Universe. Its physical laws aren't entirely the same as the ones in the Marioverse. They are not connected aside from these enemy cameos and Smash Bros.

And Link appearing in SMRPG... But yeah, they are connected, but by a narrow passageway. Actually, come to think of it, the DK universe shouldn't be connected like that, because it makes it seem like it's a distant universe and it's not.
|
|
|
Post by Toomai on Feb 22, 2009 8:25:49 GMT -5
Well, it's not exactly distant. The intent of the "Krawlspace" is to imply that it's not as easy to get between the two universes as, say, the Mario and Wario (sub)universes. This explains why you never see any Warp Pipes or ? Blocks in DK's jungles.
