I'll stick with my good ol' DS original platinum, thank you very much. (It's pretty beat up - the L button doesn't even work anymore, and every now and then Meteos thinks it's corrupted but isn't really.)

I still have the original (if that is what you meant Toomai) but maybe I'll sell it to get the DSI if games are not forward compatiable (or backwards compatiable)

DS games work on the DSI. DSI games that require the camera or something will not work on the DS, and the game itself will probably recognize which system it's in and yell at the user. The DSI does not have a GBA slot (so Action Replay and the Rumble Pack also can't be used).

It also has a DS Shop Channel where you can download VC Games and DSi-Exclusive games. I wonder how many blocks of memory are on it.
And the whole GBA slot thing is evil; No GH, Rumble Pak, Pokemon Transitions, or even just playing the GBA games! I'm happy with my original platinum also.
