People post when they have something meaningful to add to the conversation. All message boards about games have these "fluctuations" of post activity: a game comes out, there's talk about it, but between releases, there's less to say. Such is happening in the Mushroom Universe right now - sure, WL: Shake It! is rather new, but other than that the slate is literally blank. And of course, people's interest in the subject at hand can rise and dip as well. Me, I haven't been here lately because I've been maintaining my own fictional universe.
Personally, I think this particular board needs less activity than the average board. For every new contribution here, you have to think back to previous bits of evidence to see how the new information fits in. If you want to reply to every topic, you have to read every page of the topic and every post that's appeared since last time you logged on. Then you have to formulate your own response, which can take a while (I've thought about some responses for 10 minutes or more). Of course, this is just for the in-universe discussion.
...Well, I appear to have lost where I was going with this. But that's fine, since I've already said what I was going to say.
