Metroid takes place in our deminsion, just in the future. Because when Samus was little, she lived on an Earth colony, and it was ransacked by the Space Pirates. thats how she found the Cozo.

Someone on another site said that the Popstar we saw next to Zebes was actually just a portal that looked like Popstar that Master Hand created so that the fighter escaping from Zebes would know where to go.

Where are the Paper Marios and other RPGs? I think that Paper Mario 1 and 2 would fit well at the end of your timeline, because Luigi mentions Mario Kart, Mario Party, Mario Golf and Mario Tennis on it.

What has happened to the Marioverse site? I clicked the link where it says the site has been moved and that doesn't load. It just says Cannot find server.

You should be able to find it on webarchive, albeit most features won't work.
