I think Nintendo can satisfy their sword fix with the Zelda games, but it's all a matter of taste.

Actually, if anything I think hammers are more the Bros' style. It just wouldn't be the same if Mario wielded a claymore instead of a mallet.

But like I said, it wouldn't really be Mario. I don't think Mario has ever used a bladed weapon of any kind.

no ive always loved midevil weaponry better then futuristic weaponry andit not being the normal bros games is the point to it break out of the ordinaty why be normal

Why would a Yoshi even need a sword, though? I mean, they're pretty much weapons in and of themselves.
