It's already pretty much canon that Mario and Zelda take place in the same 'verse....Maybe even Star fox, which would mean there's more than one planet and space travel...
But I ain't talkin about that obvious stuff we see...how come no one ever takes the next step and crossover Mario with seemingly unrelated universes?
Share any ideas about any crossover Ideas beyond what Nintendo has givin us. Ever want to make Mario explore the frame he was imprisoned in and discover on the other side he replaced a wizard on Hogwarts' wall? Ever want to see Mario's descendants be discovered as the forerunners that created the rings in Halo? Ever imagine Snape killin Mario?
Okay maybe the last one was a little far fetched....
Share your thoughts.

I wasn't creating this thread with Falco or Fox McCloud in mind at all.
And who says Mario/HP wouldn't make a good crossover? It's never been done as far as I know.

I tend to be drawn more to related crossovers than to totally random ones, like Harry Potter or Halo. Still, though, a crazy crossover like that would be interesting. I'd like to see Mario visit Mickey Mouse and friends in Duckburg.

I agree that if the Mario/HP crossover were done in Kingdom Hearts-style and well written, then I bet it could be pulled off.
And whoever said that Mario and Zelda were in the same universe?

I'm not a fangirl, and for Mariologists you sure can be close minded.
But yeah, I figured it's pretty Black and White, Mario Fans don't read Harry Potter and vice versa. I guess I'm WEIRD. I like the idea of crossing over unrelated fandoms because sometimes you can make it work if you try hard enough and have an open mind, not only that: its a challenge!
There are many Mario references in Link and occasionally link references in Mario, so I pretty much figured they're in the same 'verse.
But I think the idea of crossing over related ones is kinda boring and it's done in canon all the time anyway. :/
And no one seems to want to cross over Books with games or Games with movies...what's up with that?

Likewise, I'm also very fond of the Harry Potter series. I used to read Animorphs when I was younger as well (havn't for many years, though).
As for Mario and Zelda, I can definately see how somebody would think that they're in the same canon. Unforutnately, I don't know enough about the references in Zelda to comment to much on that.

The game which features the majority of Mario enemies is Link's Awakening, which turns out to be a dream at the end. It may support theories that the two are connected through a dream world, but that doesn't mean anything for the true universes themselves. However, the lakitu and also the pokey, I believe, appear in The Minish Cap. The portraits and the dolls I believe are simply cameos. Unless the characters themselves appear in the game, I say they're just omages.

Clearly, by out own shining example, kingdoms and nations can barlay acknowlege each other and still be part of the same universe. EDIT: How cute! A nurotic Luigi atop our forum ^___^ Ever notice that nose habit? I notice the nose habit....
