You are absolutely right Shadowgoomba and I agree with everything you say. I personally am constatntly trying to explain several oddities and unrealistic things used in many Mario games.
As for thtryshsrt's post about the talking cloud, the flinging you into space part is too cartoony and physically impossible. The acceleration would have killed Mario upon him landing again even if it was possible for him to be shot into space. Was he even in a spacesuit, if not he would have most certainly suffocated. Mario's physics is the same as ours. The laws of physics is the same anywhere you go.

I get it, physics can not be changed but they can be bent.
Now, saying it is cartoony is taking the easy way out. Supposes we were a cartoonology forum, we'd have to find a way it complies with physics. It happened, so we're going to have to bend physics untill it works. Star power can be attributed to most of this.

I have an idea. Does the scene happen more than once? That is to say, if you redo 7-3 and bounce off the cloud again, does the scene replay or are you just shot up to the next level? Because if the scene doesn't replay, I think we can definately count it out...

Yes, it happens every time you use the cloud.

So you are saying that its possible for a person to be transported into space without any special spacesuits and without a spaceship is possible. To me, it is definetely too cartoony and physically impossible for the reasons I gave in my previous post.

No, not neccesarilly. The only thing that I find is impossible is something happening for no reason. Come up with whatever outlandish things you want, just make a reason for doing so.
