Is the Star Road some kind of other plane of existance in the Mario universe? And how are the Star Roads in SMRPG and SMW related?

I know the Star Road of SMRPG is where the wishes of the population are received and then supernaturally granted. I've always thought of it as a physical place (since it is held together by seven physical stars) that normal people don't usually visit. Its citizens include star warriors like Geno, who guard it.
I think the Star Road of SMW is another place entirely, but I'm not sure.

Perhaps the star road from SMW is just a small part of the over all place. It seems to be rather large since it contains various locations like Star Haven (PM). We know it's inhabitants are starmen (It's unknown if these are the same ones Mario uses as a power up) and I think Geno may be one of them. Personally I like the Paper Mario style of Star Road the best.

Correction.
There's one Star World, one SMRPG Star Road, and Star Haven is completly differnt from both.

Yeah I'm fairly sure Geno is some kind of star creature, because at the end of SMRPG you see a star coming out of the Geno doll.

Correction. There's one Star World, one SMRPG Star Road, and Star Haven is completly differnt from both. Are we sure about that? It's possible they could all be connected somehow. What was the purpose of Star Haven?

I guess Star Haven was just where the Star Sprits lived. It kinda just seemed like a city populated by starmen. (Perhaps the the capital of Star Road?)

Star Haven and Star World where differnt looking and shapped. The Special area could possibly be a part of the demension where World 6 from Yoshi's Island is. It's most likly not part of that realm.

Perhaps this has some connection with Rainbow Road?

Good thinking, Toomai. The various Rainbow Roads seem very similar to these other cosmic places. Wasn't the MKDD RR situated over a large city or something?

Yeah, and it had Mushroom City's architecture.

I know there's 2 rainbow roads ( MK + MK64 ). I don't know how many others there are.
Probably 10 at the rate games are coming these days.
But they could be part of the special zone ( hence the darkness all around )

There are four rainbow roads, if I'm not mistaken, and we know one of them is high above Mushroom City. I'm guessing the others are nearby.

There's 5, one per Mario Kart game. There's "Right-Angle" RR, "Death Drop" RR, "Jump Edging" RR, "Rainbow Pipe" RR, and "Inversions" RR.
