The site "Donkey Kong Universe" actually covers Banjo and Conker games because they are somewhat a part of the Donkey Kong Universe (and, subsequently, the Marioverse). So if we are to accept DK as living in Mario's dimension, we also would have to accept Conker as living in Mario's dimension. This is another reason I think it's more convenient to believe DK lives in our dimension. His world and the worlds of Banjo and Conker are all very similar (play through DK64, Banjo-Tooie, and Conker's Bad Fur Day and you'll see what I'm talking about). And it just doesn't seem right to think Mario adventures in the same dimension Conker overindulges in alcohol in.

Yup, they both got their starts in the game. Here's the character select screen for proof: img.photobucket.com/albums/v217/predalien85/dkr003.jpgYou can see Banjo in the upper right hand corner and Conker in the Lower left. Also, if I'm not mistaken the guy standing next to Banjo is Bottles the mole from Banjo-Kazooie.

Also, if I'm not mistaken the guy standing next to Banjo is Bottles the mole from Banjo-Kazooie. Close, but actually that's Bumper the badger. But if you'd like to see Bottles race, I suggest picking up Banjo-Pilot. He's an unlockable (and extremely fast) racer.

And YoshiMastar, I agree that it is frustrating Conker has to be a mature character now, as I normally find mature-rated games distasteful. They're also a telltale sign of the video game industry's increasingly mainstream nature, something I also detest.

I enjoy Mature rated games, I have a passion for ultra-realism that made me start up this board in the first place. I just figured alot of people wouldn't want to associate it with Mario.

Basically the only thing fun in Conker's bad fur day is multi player with my home boy. Everything else got old.

Yeah, the multiplayer is a blast. I thought the single-player adventure was quite fun and entertaining too.
Kamikaze, the reason I don't really like Mature-rated games is that most of them aren't good games, but they sell anyway. But when something fun is nonviolent, it has a harder time selling. Just look at which two systems are leading sales in home consoles right now: PS2 and Xbox, both of which lean toward older gamers and consequently mature games. Gamecube is in a distant third. While an E-rated title on Gamecube may be just as fun or even more fun than an M-rated game on PS2, the M-rated game will usually sell better. This frustrates me.
Another reason is that most Nintendo games aren't mature, and Nintendo games make up the majority of the games I play.

I know exactly what you mean about clones. This has always been a debate among gamers: too many clone games that use excessive gore and sexuality to appeal to idiot "gamers" who have nothing productive to do. However, when they make good games (Silent Hill, Resident Evil, ect.) then I'm all for having them be realistic when it comes to violence and language and such. Like I said, I'm into realism not unnecessary violence.

Arguing about this stuff is like politics for gamers. If you want a realistic looking game there aint much. Racing games seem to be the only games with nearly perfect looks. The Grand Theft Auto series are much too blocky. Cartoon games are my fav when I want looks ( SMS ). The physics are a huge part for me. I don't know why. I'm not too fond of Mellee for it's physics and like how I somtimes say it needs to be more like the original. Mature rated games sell so good because most gamers are teens to people in their 30's. There's an older crowd of gamers takin up Nintendo's spotlight. All in all SMB3 is just about the greatest game of all time along with Yoshi's island. ;D

If you want a realistic looking game, then check out the newest Resident Evil games (REmake, RE0, and RE4) and Silent Hill 4. Those are possibly the most realistic games I've ever seen.

The upcoming XBOX 360 title Gears Of War is, from the shots i've seen taken, the most realistic looking game on the planet. Ever.
The Halo series has extremly good graphics too.
