Whenever I log in, go some place, and then go back to the forum home page it says I'm logged out. Then when I go to a thread it says I'm logged in, but if I press reply or make a new thread it says I'm not logged in.

Hmmm, that's odd. Go to log in and there should be a little bar on the screen that asks how long you want to stay logged in for and then give you a bunch of options. Try messing with that and see if it helps.

Maybe the reason a thread says you're logged in (but everything else disagrees) is because you're seeing a cached page.

"Cached" means that your computer is displaying a previous version of the page you're on.

Seems like this very thing happened to me once, but I don't remember what I did to remedy the situation.

When you go to the login area, there should be the bar for your name, the bar for your password and then a third bar that says "Stay logged in for:". Click in the bar, and select "forever". That oughtta do the trick.

Sometimes that can happen if your computer's cookies are blanked or tampered with.
