The games NSMB, SM64DS, and some others are remakes of older games. We mostly agree that the remakes is how the game really was, or that it's a completly new adventure.
Lets sort out and discuss all these things here. This topic can go in conjunction with the Order Of Games thread.

NSMB wasn't a remake. It didn't resemble any game so far ever made. All the remakes BESIDES SM64DS should be discounted, considering they're pretty much identical to the oringinal, excect for the system they were on. SM64DS was, in my opinion, it's own adventure. Don't ask me why Bowser was stupid enough to think the exact same plan would work twice.

Agree with SM64 =/= SM64DS. Bowser could just have tried the same plan because of the new henchmen he had (Chief Chilly, etc).
Disagree with SMW2:YI =/= YI:SMA3. Sure, it's mostly the same, but there were also six new courses added. Same with the rest of the SMA's, I think the remakes replace the originals.

Heh, true, SM64DS is a SM64 sequel, there are multiple references about that on the game.

I think remakes should just replace the original in the time line. Bowser may show lack of brain powerat most times but he's not dumb enough to do the same plan again.(same goal maybe)

Yeah, but Super Mario 64 DS is a different adventure, they reference this a lot through the game.

Okay, so is SM64DS the only original remake? We've agreed that the SMA series were retellings, and it's generally agreed upon by DK fans that the GBA DKC series were also just remakes. SMBDX is obviously a remake. The Diddy Kong Racing DS game is most likely going to be a remake. DKC GBC is probably a remake. All of the NES Classic GBA games are remakes.

You can play as Mario Luigi Wario and Yoshi along with some slightly modified levles and some new bosses and power-ups.

I think it should be one adventure, but with certain things added and subtracted from both games.
I also don't remember it being referred to as another adventure.
