From what we've seen, usually people get to the Mushroom Dimension via Warp Pipe.

Well, I guess now we've determined that that's a form of travel that has only been utilized within the Mushroom Dimension.
I hold that all portals to the Mushroom Dimension in our dimension begin as mere holes that are used by simply moving through them. (Except in the case of the portal in the sewers beneath Brooklyn, NY. That one originated in a pipe that resembled a warp pipe, most likely.) When the function of these holes are discovered, pipes resembling warp pipes are built around them. An example is the warp pipe in the DK's Jungle Adventure Mario Party board area in the Kongo Jungle in our dimension. It's a direct link to the warp pipe in Mushroom Village. Since it was discovered that this portal in the Kongo Jungle led to the Mushroom Dimension, a warp pipe was built around it to mark it. I'm not sure if the same treatment was applied to the other known portal on DK Island, the one near the place where Cranky's tower used to stand. The pipe there could just be a product of the dimensional bleeding, or it could be the actual portal with a pipe built over it.
