In Paper mario the main currency was coins.
All other form of money a mystery to me. What other games used somthing doffernt than coins?
And just talk about this and stuff.

The only thing I've noticed other than coins was in Luigi's Mansion. They featured paper currency, much like dollar bills.

Wasn't their crystals of some sort?

Yup, they used big diamonds and diamond-like jewels (rubies, gems, ect). I'm pretty sure they used the same kind of jewels in the Wario games as well.

There's also the fact of the different coins.
Dragon coin, 10 coin, ( Wario Land 2 ) red and blue coins, coins with a star, coins with a line, possibly a 1, blank coins, and thats all I can think of.
I'll give you a pic of most of them.

There's gotta be tons of different coins. We should figure out what the basic unit is.

Definately. We should also try and figure out how many of each go into the others. Example, five nickels equals a quarter, so five Dragon Coins equals...?

5 Dragon coins equals 1 qwerty.
3 red coins equals 20 dobeldees.
And 1 blue coin equals 5 gold coins.

I assume you're kidding about the qwerty and dobeldee things, because I've never heard of them in any Mario game before.

Sweet.
The point of this post has currently escaped the authors mind.

It looks to me like the coins in Paper Mario, SMB, SMB3, the one on the right in SMK, SML2, the one on the left in SML3, the one to the right in SMW, the one to the right in SMRPG, the one to the left in WL2, and the bottom one in SMS are all pretty much the same coin. I'm deciding this upon the similarities in the middle insignia on the coins and the fact that they're all yellow. I'd think this is the most common piece of currency because it has shown up the most often.

The I is a common apperance on coins.
Gold coins are the most common.

My brother just suggested to me that the I on the coins could possibly be the roman numeral for "one", as in "this coin is worth one gold".

I figured that much. The gold probably isn't 24K otherwise a mushroom wouldn't cost 10 coins in Paper Mario.

Or gold just isn't as valuable there. But you're probably right.
