I guess this should be in biology since it includes the Lakitu's clouds.
How can the clouds in various Mario games support his weight?
In SMB, SMB2, SMB3, SMW, M64, ah geez every game, they've all been smiling and stationary. The face can just be an in-game thing cause almost everything has a face or eyes. They might be related to Lakitu's cloud.
They cannot support his weight if the clouds are more dense, that would only make water. Some could be made magically but others are in remote areas.
Thoughts?

Mario and Yoshi obviously weigh more then a lakitu does, so that would expain why the clouds eventually desintegrate. I assumed lakitu clouds were living things like tuff puffs and some various other cloud creatures I can't remember tha names of at the moment.
And the face thing? well, like you said everything has a face, So there probably isn't anything special about the clouds with faces.
One thing I'd like to point out is that in Mario Sunshine, you can go up through the bottom of a cloud, but its solid on top. Not sure how that fits into this, but i'd just thout I'd mention it.

In the older games the clouds are completely stationary ( except the bonus area platform cloud in SMB ).
Could the physics in the Mushroom World have water vapor be solid enough to stand on?

Maybe MK water vapour is dense enough to support weight, but you need to at least shuffle around a bit to stand on top for long.

We know gravity is probably weaker in the MK, so why not?

Hey, maybe they are sentine clouds from the nimbus kingdom that become solid when someone jumps on them.

Hey, maybe they are sentine clouds from the nimbus kingdom that become solid when someone jumps on them. I doubt it. The nimbians (my term for the people of the mibus kingdom) are people and the clouds, including lakitu's cloud, are more or less objects really

I'm not talking about enemy clouds. I'm talking about the ones you can just stand on and they don't move and you don't fall through or nothing. Who is spike I never played that game....Are you talking about the guys who throw big spiked balls at you?

They are very possibly a type of cloud that is extremely compressed, thus making it dense enough to support weight.

But if it was compressed enugh to hold peples weght like that it would probably fall out of the sky. At least that's what would happen on our planet........

Once again, if a cloud is compressed then it would make water.

That being so, I still think that most of those clouds are just camaflouged platforms.

Of Course! Why didn't I think Of that. It could be a specially designed platform, shaped like a cloud. It is Possible to pass through the bottom, but not back through the top.
