Well, it depends on what part of Tennessee. If I attended a school in one of the larger cities, like Nashville or Memphis (which are very diverse, open, and cultured places), I'd most likely find my niche at school. In a place like thingyson, however, which is a small town of 12,000, there is a very closed mindset. It's not like there are Ku Klux Klan rallies here or anything, it's just that the small town mentality is very pervasive.
EDIT: Haha, it censored the name of my town.
