My theory is Ludwig built the doomship with the help of Larry and maybe a few other Koopas. It is probably about the size of an average cruise ship maybe a bit smaller. One question: Is the Doomship and the Koopa Cruiser from Superstar Saga the same thing?

No, the Cruiser is in the shape of Bowser. Doomships are in the shape of a galleon. They all crashed anyway. (Super Mario World)

Yes, I believe that the ghost ship in SMW was one of the doom ships from SMB3 but I think Bowser's researchers developed it. (He is too busy yelling at everyone else)
