The new name for the Nintendo Revolution has come out today. And they've decied to call it the:.................Wii (Pronounced "we") Wii? WII! is THAT The best they could think of! That ranks as one of the dumbest prodct names I have ever heard! How could they call it that?! It's so stupid! People are so hyped about it both Nintendo of America AND Europes website have busy servers.....Wii....I'm still calling it the Revolution.

does the name really matter, over at N sider most of the people are fine with it,I think it's a japanese-ish name. They also might release info to why they called it that.

The info already exists, follow the frontpage links at nintendo.com.
And I heard a rumour that the sound "we" doesn't exist in Japenese.

"Wii" is the dumbest name for a video game system I've ever heard. Any chance Nintendo had of attracting the older crowd to this system is now shot. I know people (myself not included) that wouldn't be caught dead playing something called "Wii."
I'll buy it anyway, though. There's always Super Mario Wii to look forward to. (God, I hope they don't call it that.)

I don't think the name of something would ever stop me from buying it, but I'm still trying to figure out the best way to go up to a store clerck and tell him I want a Wii...

Well, in Canada, you say what cupboard you want opened and take what you want to the counter.

The new name is kinda weird when you talk french.. (I live in Quebec.. (in Canada) and most of my friends talk french.)
Lol. The other day I told my friend (in french): "Yo! Guess what's the official name of the Revolution!" He asked me what it was.. and I told him it's called Wii. He told me: "Are you serious?" and then I told him: Oui (French for Yes, which sounds exactly like Wii) GET IT!?! ... No? ok.. never mind then...
