I may be alone in this, but I've always wanted to see some of the Nintendo games made into multiple comic series (specifically Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, and Metroid). And I'm not talking about little back issue things that you see in Nintendo Power, I mean full-fledged comic series that come out with new issues every month. I mean c'mon, how awesome would it be to have a series detailing the various bounties that Samus Aran collects, or the adventures that Link has all over Hyrule? And I would definately die of happiness if I got to read a series about the Mario Bros. And not just game adaptations (although that would be cool too), I want to see new chapters in all these characters lives.
So who's with me on this? I'm honestly thinking of starting up a petition to Nintendo.

Have you ever seen the Super Mario World and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past comics in the old issues of Nintendo Power? Those were awesome, and I know they released them as two volumes later on (I have the Mario one). You should check them out.
And I don't know about the petition. There was once an Earthbound related one that had (I think) two thousand signatures. And it didn't work. I think writing in to Nintendo Power is the best idea because they usually print the letters about comics in the Player's Pulse section.

Hmm, that would be cool but unfortunatly tons of errors would arise. Much like the show things would be left out or made confusing. This reminds me of Mad magizine in the "are you happy now?" part.
You spend 2 years trying to convince people to sign the petition and Nintendo won't allow it.
Or they allow it but the comics make no sense, are badly drawn, and your Nintendo Power subscribtion is declined.
To many variables. Better just to make them your self.
Or at least me. I'm good at drawing. ;D

Yup, I used to own one of the compilations. I think it was Super Mario Bros Adventures, or Adventures of the Super Mario Bros, or something along those lines. It was pretty much a manga adaptation of SMW, but it was in color and had a mini story in the back called Mario Vs. Wario, which was an adaptation of Super Mario Land 2 (although it was very short). Unfortunately, it got some water spilled on it and my mother threw it away some years back. I still remember most of it, though.
And I would love to make them myself if I had an actual staff at my disposal. And if I were a good writer, lol. And oh yeah, there's always the part about getting sued by Nintendo. ^_^()

I think unless you claim that you own the Nintendo charecters you should be fine.
Plus you could ask their permission.

So if they did make comics, who do yout hink should make them? Should Nintendo hire an existing company to create them or should they do it themselves? If anything, I think Dark Horse should produce them.

Anybody who can draw the original drawings is good with me.

Yeah, Dark Horse. Their Star Wars comics are supposed to be really deep. I'd be very interested in seeing them take on the surprising depth of the Marioverse.

That settles it. I'm making a petition, and I expect both of you to sign it. *points*
