I really want to know why so many people hate the New Super Mario Bros. games, I mean, I loved then(especially Wii), and I look forward to a 3DS release. But on GoNintendo and a few other sites, Ii've noticed people straight up trolling the Sub-series Art Style, Music Direction, lack-of Online, and , yes, even the GAMEPLAY! It's really getting ridiculous IMO. What do you guys think?

My guess would be it didn't live up to their standards of SMB3 and SMW. I personally thought the two games were good in their own right.
And they could be still crying over the 2 toads, which isn't a big enough deal to ruin an entire game.

I don't think anyone still cares about the Toad thing, do they?
Still, I'm not sure to be honest. My guess on the Wii game is because many mistakenly think it has anything to do with the DS one other than the title and some graphics/music, thinking it's some rehash (yet not thinking that of Mario Galaxy 2 for some reason), or maybe it's because many self proclaimed 'hardcore' gamers seem to have a hatred against anything in 2D in this day and age.
Really, I don't know, I also love these games. More New Super Mario Bros for 3DS please!

Hmmm. I wasn't aware anyone really hated them. I thought quite the opposite, actually. Both games have met with rave reviews from a multitude of different sources.
My only gripe with both games (especially the Wii version) was that they were waaaaaaaaaay too easy. I've honestly still had more of a challenge beating the original Super Mario Bros. (which I play-through every few months or so, WITHOUT using Warp Zones) at times.

NSMBWii wasn't as easy as the original NSMB though. And as far as NSMB hate goes, most of the hate comes from people who hate all Mario games in general and since no one cares about their opinion... NSMB really doesn't recieve that much hate

Hm... well contrary to poular belief I cannot read minds, so the only way to find out why they hate NSMB would be to ask them or get someone else to ask them.

Well, I know why, they hate the art style, graphics, music, and... well, everything! They say that it is not Mario-like, but I don't understand why... Oh, and Koopalmier, I thought you said he could read minds!

He can, I assure you. He just needs his daily meal. *puts a giant dog food bag in kingkoopa's mouth and starts talking* I think that they don't like it because it lacks the charm of previous games.

You know this talk about NSMB hate reminds me of what some kids in my school were saying. They said that all 2D games after Super Mario World were a flop. (They really wouldn't mention why). However, these kids were 360 fans (they went so far as to make fun of a kid who preordered DKCR instead of the new Assassins Creed) so their credibility about Mario games isn't exactly trusted... but it might help somewhat.

I don't want this to turn into a bash thread, but some kids at my school the other day were talking about how "amazing" Kinect is, and how much "potential" it has... Makes me sick! But at least MS tried something that Nintendo isn't doing(Camera Based Motion Controls), but I don't give them any props considering they have NOTHING to offer Hardcore gamers(As opposed to Wii, which launched with Twilight Princess & Call of Duty 3)! Kinect only appeals to Casuals, and Fanboys, but I'll eat my words if they can ever make a "Real" game(Ya' know, like a Platformer or Action-Adventure) work on it.

As far as I know, Kinect IS actually pretty good (although a long time of playing would obviously hurt) and obviously has potential.

If they can actually make platformers with Kinect, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
...But first, I need to buy a PS3 so that I can play LittleBigPlanet...

The only game that seems to work on Kinect is Kinectamals. That game actually seems pretty cool. Until you realize that the developers spent like three years perfecting the controls and that was IT. Nothing else about the game except the controls... And I've heard that the other games have really delayed responses to the point where you can't play the game. And also... Sonic Riders for Kinect is the worst game of the year.
