Mario games are prone to remakes, but some games need them more than others. Here we discuss what game should get a remake. Here's some of my ideas.
Wario Land, Virtual Boy: It's a good game stuck on a bad console. It should be released on the 3DS, so it could still have the 3d. And perhaps add a few new levels.
Yoshi's Safari: I had a lot of fun with this game, but now, its hard to play since the game's too long to go without a save system and the super scope eats up batteries like Wario eats up garlic. This game would work well with the Wii-remote.
Super Mario Advance 4, SMB3: SMB3 has been remake several times, but how about all the unused content of world-e? Nintendo should finish it up and release it worldwide.

I'm definitely with you, in regards to Virtual Boy Wario Land. I've always wanted to play it, but have never been able to for obvious reasons.
My vote goes toward Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Sure, it's on the Virtual Console. But, I've been wanting a portable version for the longest time. With the 3DS coming out, I wouldn't be averse to some updated graphics and improved music either. SMRPG needs to be put in the spotlight for the newer generation of Mario fans to experience. I've always felt that it never got the attention that it deserves.

Well... - Super Mario All-Stars. Sure, they ported it to the Wii, but we need a version of it with NSMBW-like graphics and physics. And more differences between Super Mario Bros. and The Lost Levels. Even if they don't add anything else, that'd be enough for me. - Super Mairo RPG. It didn't age very well. They need to do a 3DS remake, with more colorful graphics, a better sense of depth, updated music, etc. - Wario Land 3DS. Even if the just add colors, that'd already make the game more enjoyable for me. But it'd only be an unimportant bonus sold with... - Virtual Boy Wario Land 3DS. For the same reasons as everyone else. - Luigi's Mansion 3DS. DO IT. - Paper Mario. On Wii, with Paper Mario 2-like graphics.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on Super Mario RPG. Though I want it to be remade, I think it's aged just fine. It's still my favorite Mario role-playing game. In fact, I think I'm due for another playthrough in the next week or so. =)
But, as far as Luigi's Mansion 3DS is concerned, SIGN... ME... UP!

I would love to see SMB-SMW redone in the "new" style. If that had been part of the All-stars package, I would have bought it in a heartbeat.
I agree that Yoshi's Safari should be redone too. That would make an excellent Wii-ware game.
In fact, I realized this when I was playing the game via the Homebrew channel. The wii control is absolutely perfect for this.

But, as far as Luigi's Mansion 3DS is concerned, SIGN... ME... UP! Yes. Yes! FREAKIN' YES!Sign me up too. As for remakes, I generally prefer new games more than a remake of an older one. Unless the remake has something more to offer, that is.
