Well, you do have both edible mushrooms and Toads in the Mario series, so it's not really a problem.

From the updated manual of Super Mario All-Stars Wii. The "Toads were transformed into bricks" story is still canon.

*headdesk*
Okay... I just spent the past 3 hours playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky...
I just gotta say, I now have a new-found hatred for both Gastly, and Ninetails... And grass types, but that's for a completely different reason...

*bump*
Okay, I leave for two freakin' days and there's, like, zero activity going on around here?!
If weeds could grow on the internet, I'd make a reference to Animal Crossing.
Oh wait.

I think I've said this before, but this forum suffers from "Awkward Silences". By that, I mean that we could be in the middle of a heated debate, but then someone says something, and...we just don't post. This can go on for days, weeks, months, etc.
That's my take on it, at least.

So, I decided to (re)play all Mario games (in their latest released version), following my version of the timeline. Here is my progression (this is for myself): - Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island (not 100%) - Donkey Kong (Game Boy) - Wrecking Crew (played until level 15 or so) - Mario Bros. (GBA) (played until level 45 or so) - Super Mario Bros. (from Mario All-Stars) (Wii) (100%) - Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (from Mario All-Stars) (Wii) (100%) - Super Mario Bros. 3 (from Mario All-Stars) (Wii) (just started it, am at World 3) - Super Mario Land - Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (I kind of cheated and only did the final boss, as I already completed the game months ago) - Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land (played until the boss of Mt. Teapot then stopped, I don't like this game) - Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World (not 100%) - Super Mario Bros. 2 (from Mario All-Stars) (Wii) (didn't play it yet, plan to do so) - Super Mario Kart (didn't do 150cc) - Mario & Wario (played until Ice Cave then stopped, this game is boring) - Yoshi's Safari - Dr. Mario (SNES, as part of Tetris & Dr. Mario) (played a bit then stopped, it's too complicated) - Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (got all best weapons, all characters at level 30, beaten Culex and finished the game) - Wrecking Crew '98 (played until the first level then stopped, I can't even understand how to win) - Super Mario 64 DS (am at 79 stars, still playing it) - Mario Kart 64 (didn't do 150cc) - Mario Party (collected 720 coins and 7 stars, then stopped. Is that game supposed to be fun ?) - Mario Golf (64) (played a bit then stopped, I can't understand how to play) - Mario Party 2 (didn't play it yet, don't feel like doing so considering it's merely a play and doesn't matter in the timeline) - Mario Tennis 64 (didn't play it yet, plan to do so but I'm not sure if I'll like it) - Paper Mario (kind of cheated considering I started playing a while ago, so I continued my file and completed Chapter 6)
Highlighted = I'm still playing it right now. This post is personal, I'm sorry for stretching the page for such a thing.
I planned to play these simply in chronological order but I realized there are a lot of Mario games I don't like at all. I hope I could start playing normally again, after Paper Mario. For games I don't have nor can play on an emulator (e.g. Mario Party 4, DDR Mario Mix, Luigi's Mansion...) I could still watch a walkthrough on Youtube.

A GIF of a fat penguin spinning a leek for infinity, parodying a meme, isn't exactly art.

Finally, after the bitter dissapointment of not finding it under the tree, I just bought Kirby's Epic Yarn with the money that my Aunt gave me! ...'Course, my sister's claimed the living room TV so I can't play it... BUT! By the time someone replies to this post, her show'll be over, so I'll be on the Wii for the rest of the night. L-ater!
