Oi guys. It's Toomai here. Probably none of you remember me, it's been a year (to the day, almost) since I've last posted here.
You probably deserve an explanation as to why the only remaining admin lost interest in this place. There are basically three reasons:
1. The membership was turning over. Hardly anyone that I actually knew was around, and the rest of the people were giving the forum a tone I didn't really like. It's not anyone's fault, it's just that the change bugged me.
2. Because there were more members, the place started becoming busier, which made it harder to keep up with everything. I always felt that a place like this benefits more with slow posting than fast posting.
3. The Grand Unified Theory. It's hard to pinpoint when, but at some time I lost interest in the physics of the Marioverse, turning instead to the physics of the Nintendo Multiverse as a whole. I'm currently one of (if not the) top contributors at SmashWiki (the Super Smash Bros. wiki), and have generated at least a theory for everything of every game I've ever played. I figured that I would overpower the site and stifle discussion by using it, since it's not exactly open to change.
Am I going to contribute something now that I've been nudged back here? Probably not, but we'll see.
Am I going to make someone here an admin so they can maintain the site on their own? Yes, but since I don't really know anyone, it'll be tricky to pick the best guy. I suggest you come up with some sort of democratic system that will help pick the top candidate. Maybe a good idea is that the "winner" gets adminship while the "2nd place" gets to be a global mod (possibly 3rd as well).
