I'd guess they are on Mushroom Land, but keep in mind, Toad Town faces the Western Sea, thus we may be looking at it from the West, so Gritzy Desert could actually be South East as far as Directions go.

Toad Town faces the western sea... ?
Peach's Castle faces the south, as you can see in M&L1. Toad Town faces to the same direction as the castle.

Mushroom Castle faces West in Paper Mario, Super Mario RPG(Even if the Map is False), and (I believe)New Super Mario Bros./Wii)

Toad Town doesn't really "face" in any direction. But is Superstar Saga is anything to go by, I think the castle itself faces west

You see on the map that the game is in the "east is to the right" side. You see from the mountain that Peach's Castle is facing to the south.

The castle still doesn't face the west in Paper Mario. ._.

EVERYTHING in Paper Mario faces South. Otherwise you couldn't see the entrance.

What are you talking about--- Oh, I suppose it doesn't, I thought the front was to the West, but my other ouints still stand, but I haven't played SSS in a while, so I can't say for it...

Super Mario RPG was the castle's first appearance. In that game everything faces the south-west. In other Mario RPGs everything faces the south. It's safe to assume that SMRPG's overworld and map aren't in the "right" direction. And it was the castle's first appearance in-game anyway (it first appeared in the official guide of Super Mario Bros.), many changes were made later. Note that the castle's roof is blue too.

I don't consider the Guides or Manuals canon, but nice Fun Fact, Koop! In NSMBWii, it faces the Ocean, and the Ocean is to the West(PM's Map cannot be Canon because of the BeanBean Kingdoms location in relation to the Mushroom Kingdom)! Really, no Map is Canon as each only shows Locations relevant to the Games story, so I believe we should base the Map off of their Directions!

Actually, here's what makes the PM map canon (and the base for all the other maps):

Wait, I got it! Superstar Sagas map has a compass rose on it. And when you go to the top of Hoohoo Mountain, the castle is seen facing you. Therefore, the castle is facing...well what do you know it does face South! Here's the map www.spriters-resource.com/gameboy_advance/mlss/sheet/863

I agree with the general Are you are placing those Locations in, but I think DryDry Desrt id farther South East, and the Ocean isn't right there, as I think Mushroom Plains extends South into the SMRPG Lands, the the Forest and Mountains from NSMBWii, then the BeanBean Kingdom! And I think RouguePort may be an Island...

Looking at the PM map, do you think Bubble lake is the name of the lake near the Koopa Bros. fort?

Huh, well, I imagined Bubble Lake being alot bigger than that, but they could be the same thing! Good Idea, PDoogan!

The Blubble Lake area really surrounded the lake, so I don't think the lake is all that big
