Miis

Okay, it's pretty official now; Miis are in the Marioverse. they're on posters and they drive around in the Mall in Mario Kart Wii, and they're in MP 8 in that huge World Fair. Any ideas about them? I think they're actually located all on some distant continent in the ME. There's no reason for them to be in an alternate universe, and no conflicts.

Except that the instructor for Wii Boxing is the teacher for Little Mac in Punch-Out. But he probably came in the same way Mario did, considering they both lived in New York.

Miis I think are one of the few things I'm sure almost everyone can agree are non-canon.

Well, I'm not sure...
They're actually IN the game of MKW. The Mario characters are at least aware of their existence.

I think we can go by a small canon test here...Can the Miis be replaced by more Mario-like content without affecting the game?

I would say yes. Just take out all the Miis in places like the sidelines and the posters and replace them with Toads, Koopas, etc.
