But the one in Desert Land is far away from the level where the Angry Sun chases you. Oasises are very rare occurances and don't usually appear more than once if at all in deserts (excluding extremely large ones). Oh wait. There's two of them in Desert Land...well anyway the Angry Sun level is away from both of them.

Their long roots must transport sand particles long distances away and they must deposit sand in big dunes. That might explain where all those sand falls come from. But I guess this is discusion for the piranah plant topic...

Yeah, let's get back to Bloopers.

I have an answer to the floating Blooper thing that makes sense. Well, any of you who played Pikmin should know about a creature called a Puffy Blowhog. These creatures fly using a hydrogen bladder, which would make them float away, if not for the fact that they let the hydrogen out evenly. Perhaps the ParaBloopers can do the same thing, only with something less flammable, say... Helium?

Something I never understood from that game though is where it got the helium in the first place. It isn't just floating around...oh wait yeah it is. But it isn't overly common.

Theres nothing wrong with it using hydrogen wich is super abundant....at least on Earth. Chemical levels in the atomospher of ME might be different, but it's probably not that much different from Earth's.

Chemical levels aren't the problem. The problem is the high flammability.

What's to catch it on fire in their habitat? Beside they could just be using low levels of it mixed with other light gasses.

There's only seven gases lighter tan oxygen and even less lighter than the majority of what we breath, nitrogen. Some of the are toxic, hard to find, or have to be heated extremely high to reach a gaseus state. That doesn't leave many options. All that would have to happen is two things rubbing together in their bodies, creating friction, creating a spark, and (mixed with hydrogen) creating fire. They would have a very high fatality rate. That's what happened with the Hindenburg.

But like I said, ME atmospher might be different from ours.

Having a different atmosphere wouldn't change hydrogen's flammability.

But it might change likeliness of other light gasses...-_________

If helium was abundant, it might explain Toads' squeaky voices Actually, though, if helium or any gas was more common, then the standard of air would be lighter. Sense all air would be light, helium wouldn't do any good.

Well we alredy know that the bulk of the air there must be preatty heavy seeing as how high Mario and Luigi can jump there. Or that could be because the ME is smaller than Earth making it have less gravity. Either way, Some Bloopers can float.....

Both of those solutions won't allow them to hover, just fly to infinity.

Post by Meta Black Yoshi on May 8, 2007 20:56:08 GMT -5
Then why don't blimps and hot air balloons fly to infinity?
|
|
|
Post by shadowgoomba on May 8, 2007 21:25:53 GMT -5
Because they use hot air and increase heat to go up and let off on the heat to go down.

Ok then. Bloopers generate heat by moving around to go up.

Post by shadowgoomba on May 8, 2007 22:33:54 GMT -5
How do they generate heat by simply moving?

They generate it by moving.
