It apears in Super Mario 64 the second snow level, one in the mirror room. at first it looks like an ordinary coin floating in the air but when you get close it transforms. What could it be? Kinda looks like a purse and it has a bunch of coins inside. It hops around like a frog though.....

I could be wrong, but I think it's called a moneybags.
"checks mariowiki"
Yep it's a moneybags alright, it's also found in NSMB.

So, do you think it's like some kind of plant or something. Or maby it's relly a frog with special camaflouge abilities.

They look more like clams than frogs. It's probobly some kind of small animal that found it's way into a perse and likes to horde coins. I have know idea how they tern into coins though.

Alot of reptiles and fish use camaflouge, and it is green. So I thought it might be some find of reptile. Frogs are amphibians though:/. Maby that's close enugh but can frogs change there color?

Whatever it is, it doesn't just camaflouge: it becomes completely transparent (except for the coins inside).
Maybe it's a creature that eats coins.

Nah, if it ate the coins they would have degraded. I'm thinking it likes to collect coins. For excample, dragons like to collect coins even though they can't do anything with them.

You mean like how birds collect shiny things?

But now in SuperMario Galaxy, the moneybags have starbits when you kill them. I see no connection, and how do they pick the things up?

Those Moneybags might prefer Star Bits over coins. As for picking them up, they would just stick it in their "opening".

Well another thing is how they fit all that stuff into such a small space. I mean, even if the creatures have little or tiny body/organs, it wouldn't be as much as you receive after killing one.

Hadn't thought of that. I never liked the idea but I do accept it.

You know, does hammerspace store the weapons and equipment of every character in the MU or is it just for the person who is using it

Yes it does. That is especially true in SMB3 and the RPG games.

I like to think that items in hammerspace are private to a single entity, but they can be shared if the owner wishes.
