I think you mean boomarang bros, hammer bros look eggactly the same but boomerang bros seem to be "vegified". Many other enemy are also vegified.

I fought this one boomberang bro. It took me over an hour to beat it!!!! What's up with that. It's just like this one uber boomberang bro. out of all of them. In paper mario games all of them look exactly the same.

In M&L:SS the Hammer Bros. were fatter and shorter than normal Koopas.

An hour to beat a boomerang bro!?!?!?! What game was this and what level were you at? ML:SSS It was this one boomberang bro at Gwar Lagoon. I don't remember the exact spot but it was like right next to a big wall or mountain or something on the left side. Actualy there were two of them. To uber boomberang bros.....

Considering we haven't completely decided whether they're born or trained, there could be two reasons.
1. They're an extremely dangerous profession: I bet there would be a lot of casulties.
2. The conditions required to raise one are very arduous.
