Have we seen a pet Chain Chomp as a pet other than the one in Isle Delfino?

In links awakening someone had a pet chain chomp, but that's a zelda game.

I think that they are the MK's answer to dogs. It's just that they don't appear as pets other than in SMS.

Did you know that:The Chain Chomp was inspired by a childhood experience of Shigeru Miyamoto, where a dog tried to attack him. The dog lunged at him, but was jerked back by its leash just as the canine snapped at Miyamoto inches in front of his face. EDIT: here are a couple of pics from zelda games: The first one is from a link to the past, and the seconed one is from links awakening.

I don't think they're connected. I reckon it's just a simple cameo.

Good Idea. So, The ones in Link, although they look exactly like Chain Chomps, are called Bow-wows.

So in that cameo they're called Bow wow's, and they're not called Bow wow's in any Mario game.
Right?

Just to clear up that "Bow-Wow" vs. "Chain Chomp" issue:

Well....now that that's cleared up, I was wondering, how is it even possible that chainchomps can even move their mouths? Their whole outer body apears to be made of some king of metalic substance or at least something equaly as hard. It seems like there should be a sign of overlaping or warping when chainchopms open and close their mouths, but they all seem to be solid. Could there possibly be an extreemly small overlaping section invisible to the human eye?
