Why? I think their only relation is that they are both a speciece of piranah plant. Don't think they interact with one another on a daily basis or anything though and I don't think munchers are part of the common red spotted piranah plant's growing cycle.

Actually they come in may different colors. Bungee piranah was purple, frost piranaha are blue, pale piranahs are black and white. The only simiarity is that they all have spots and big white lips.

But red onse show up a whole lot more.....
There the only kind in Mario 64. Don't count Goopy Piranah plants and the same can be said for Mario Sunshine.
I beleive super Mario Brothers is the only game with pirana plants excluding red onse. And then in the remake they added red ones :/.....
Don't forget there have been manny instances of color change. Most of the green onse in SMW2 turn yellow and then into "red" when hit but you don't see the red onse turning green. Hmmmm. Dose anyone think green onse could be powered up by a super shroom?

He does have a point though, red type is more common because green type seems to be more of a powered up variety

No, the green kind never spit fireballs, only the red ones. The red kind seem to have the magic.
Since they're plants it seems the green kind are premature, and they change color when fully grown (like fruit).

Well actuly, in SMB3 there are green venus fire traps as well as red ones.
P.S. I concede defeat, I looked it up on mario-wiki and it turns out that munchers are a type of nipper plant, not there own spices.

Well um...Ok. We really can't compare all the red plants to all the green onse. We gotta pic to similar onse and then compare them.

red ones seem to use special abilities (fire, shrinking, petal storm, etc.). Green ones seem to use spiked objects to attack.

And also, some green onse will turn into yellow onse when damaged, and just about all yellow onse will turn into red onse when damaged.

And also, some green onse will turn into yellow onse when damaged, and just about all yellow onse will turn into red onse when damaged. green ones must be physically buffed up to withstand most damage. Maybe they have mushrooms as their average diet.

That is only in YI, they must be a differnt spicies because they launch pokeys instead of fireballs. pitoies (SP) are green, not found in YI, and use spiked balls. Speaking of YI, does anyoen remeber that name of that one plant that shot stuff at you.
