Yeah, in Sonic X they seem to get transported from Mobius to Earth. Game and comic-wise, however, I think they're supposed to be on Earth the whole time. I dunno, I'll have to check up on that.

The games themselbes aren't, but the manuals usually give some type of backstory. They're just as descriptive as the Mario games.

The Archie Sonic comic series holds that Sonic lives on Mobius, that Station Square is just on Mobius somewhere under a mountain, and that Station Square has these projectors that make it look like it's above ground. Pretty interesting stuff.

Philzero, I honestly couldn't understand a word of what you just said. Maybe it would be a good idea to start using some punctuation now and again.

I'm freakin' confused now, and my lack of punction is bad beacause I am to lazy to punctuate my scentences. I'm talking about how nintendo has started new things and bought companies, waiting they're money on world domination instead of making a good quality system. Fire emblem by far is one the best things theyve done with nintendo.
Translated. I still don't understand it..
No Claws, the comic states that station square was a city in the mountain on earth, there were no humans on Mobius before Doctor Robotnic used the emeralds to teleport there because Doctor Robotnic existed in the real world, and on Mobius. Doctor Robotnic existed only on Mobius until they were all transported to earth. Which since Doctor Eggman is Doctor Robotnics grandson, how old is Sonic himself anyways?
Translated that. I still have no idea.

The Sonic storyline is so jumbled that...well...I guess it's just like Mario.
Basically, Sonic was friends with Dr. Kintobor until one day he accidently caused the good doctor to become fused with an egg and a robot (he tripped over a wire or something), thus transforming him into Dr. Robotnik and earning him the title "Eggman". In regards to the comics, this all took place on Earth millions of years in the future when animals have evolved to me more humanoid, hence all the anthropomorphs. That's why there's humans, animals, and a third race which are basically humans with three fingers. I forget what they're called, though.
I don't know, I'm confused now. I'll have to look all this stuff up again.

The humans were called Overlanders, I think. So was Mobius just what Earth will be called in millions of years? They call it Mobius in the Archie comic book all the time.

The human to Mobius thing is kinda like the human to Mushroom World thing. There's probably many humans but there's no clear way of knowing how they got there.

There are a bunch of different incarnations of Dr. Robotnik. The original storyline had him as Dr. Ovi Kintobor before being accidently transformed into Dr. Ivo Robotnik. The new one, like you said, has him as the grandson of Dr. Gerald Robotnik. Although Gerald was never in any of the games aside from the clips in Sonic Adventure 2. "Dr. Robotnik" and "Eggman" are still the same person, though.

Isn't the current Eggman a form of Robo-Robotnik that was changed into a human?

His real name is Doctor Ivo Robotnik. Sonic refers to him as "Eggman" as a sign of disrespect. If you play Sonic Adventure one, I seem to remember a scene where Sonic calls him Eggman and he snaps back with "Don't call me that!"
In the comic series, however, I do believe that the current Dr. Robotnik is indeed a robot. The orignal human Robotnik transferred his consciousness into a mechanical shell when his body was destroyed. I believe he was crushed to death, but don't hold me to that.

His body's destruction was odd. I just recall a brutal battle with Sonic and some machine called the "ultimate annihilator" or something to that effect. I need to reread issue 50.

Gerald Robotnik is Ivo Robotnik's grandfather, which would make him an ancestor, not a descendant.
