I figured to get things going, I would start a discussion. I don't know if it has a better name or if it's in the right section, but anyway, you know that fluffy stuff in Yoshi's Island that's all over the place. You can stand on it fine but if you shoot it or ground pound on it then it zooms through. Explain how that stuff, being so powdery, can support Yoshi's weight.

Can you refresh my memory? It's been a while since I played. What fluffy stuff are talking about?

That's actually loosely packed dirt. It's easy to stand on beacuse it's solid, but if you apply enough force to it, it easily crumbles.

Oh that dirt. The yellow dirt. I remember theres a level that has a whole lot of it. Getting to the end of the level couldn't be simpler but beating it 100% is a pain. It also has puffins!

Well, yeah but, Grinders (the monkeys) throw Needlenoses (the spiky cactus balls) which I believe breaks it up. But Yoshi can jump on it freely. Even with the force of the throw, a small plant wouldn't break it up like a jump would.

I'm not sure about Needlenoses breaking up the dirt, but I would assume that thier non-air-resistant shape would cause the power of both the throw and gravity to give them enough breakage power.
