Well, I didn't assume that. I just remember reading it on the PM map screen. But then again, Papaer Mario was made before MKDD, so the developers didn't know they were going to create Double Dash in the future.

What was the wording? Did it say that Toad Town was the largest city on the mainland, or did it simply say that it was the largest city in the area/country? If it's the former, then we could say that Mushroom City is on an island (similar to Manhattan), which would allow it to be close to Mushroom Bridge yet not on the same landmass as Toad Town.

"Largest city in the Mushroom Kingdom", I believe. By the way, you used <these> instead of [these] by mistake.

Oops. I have to use <> when I'm working on my website.
Is there any way we can reconcile these two facts? PM says Toad Town is the largest Mushroom Kingdom city, yet Mushroom City is obviously larger.
Maybe Toad Town was the largest city in 2001, but by the time MKDD occurred, Mushroom City had experienced a population explosion and overtaken Toad Town as most populous city.

That's kind of a stretch. Look how much bigger Mushroom City is and the two years there was between PM and MKDD.

Mushroom City doesn't have to be in the Mushroom Kingdom exactly. It could be across the big river right next to the border.

Kinda like Little Fungi Town in M&L:SS. It's a place just named after the Mushroom Kingdom.

Here's a picture of the PM map. Where do you guys think Mushroom Bridge and Mushroom City should be? Or should they even be on this map? Map

I don't think that map can be trusted. Look at the relative sizes of Toad Town and Dry Dry Desert, for example.

The Mushroom Kingdom seemed a lot bigger with more land masses in SMB3. Maybe Mushroom Bridge is located on one of those other islands. (I always assumed the PM map was Grassland.)

It could all be in the back.

That map can't possibly be to scale, so maybe trying to fit them on it is a lost cause. However, using the map as a rough guideline, how do you guys think Mushroom Bridge and Mushroom City fit in with their surroundings? Yoshi Mastar says they're located behind everything.

Behind what? The frozen mountains?

Behind Peache's castle.
It all fits, the river for the bridge, Peaches castle in the distance. Open area.

To me, though, it looks like Mushroom Bridge is to the south of the castle because of how it looks in that screenshot I posted.

The thing is, no one ever sees the back of the castle.

So are these DD areas in front of the castle or behind? If they're behind, we can easily place them in that large, empty area behind the castle. However, to me they seem to be in front.

They definately are in front.
