Like why it's there, any theories.

Well, I would think that the yoshis built it to have a place to live. Seeing as how it's a village of yoshis.

Like how they got there, any connection between them and Delfino and Dinosaur land.

Hmm. I'd say Yoshis came from Dinosaur Island to Yoshi's Village many ages ago, and two different societies of Yoshis developed. As for Delfino Plaza... not sure how it's connected.

I would assume it happened the same way that it does over here with different species of lizard. Perhaps thousands of years ago, the continents were more closely arranged and had land bridges leading off to different areas. Some yoshis would migrate to the area now known as The Dinosaur Islands, some would migrate to Delfino Island, and some would migrate to the island and in Paper Mario (I forget the name). Then, after many millenia, the continents would have drifted apart and the change in region and climate and such would have prompted the yoshis to evolve differently in their respective areas.

No Yoshi's Island is near Dinosaur Land, shapped differntly, and there's Yoshi's on Delfino.
Rapheal was "knocked" away in the game YI he could have flown to Lava Lava Island.
Plus it's a differnt name.
That should be a little too obvious.

the YI island had no bridge or whatever meaning it couldn't be the dinosaur land one,and if I can recall he was hit into space

A. There seems to be a good twenty years between YI and SMW, so a bridge could have easily been built.
B. I stress the fact that YI was in storybook format meaning that many things in the game could have been greatly exaggerated. Granted we have no way of knowing, but seems a little silly that a single Yoshi would have been able to smack a huge thing like Raphael the Raven hard enough to reach escape velocity.

Yeah, but Yoshi didn't knock Raphael onto the moon, if I remember right, that was Kamek's doing. He made Raphael grow, got them to the moon, and since the moon has a very low gravitational pull, I think it might make sense that Yoshi could kick him off. For one, Raphael would've been weakened after the fight, and two, Yoshi is a dinosaur therefore meaning he has very strong leg muscles. Not to mention a human can just jump off the moon if he tried hard enough. Just opinion though..

Well, by that logic then why didn't Yoshi go flying off into space every time he jumped? Especially since his legs were so powerful.

Yoshi didn't kick him off he pounded the "wood" poles and hit him.
