There are two racists who are in the Mario multiplayer. Erica Barmash and Lisa Filipek yelled at a Muslim man during a video game conference. They said he was an "Arab sand n word" and told him to go to "Osama." Erica Barmash told him that Israel would "A bomb the Middle East". Lisa Filipek started screaming at anyone who was wearing a Christmas decoration, or who looked Christian. This is the second time I saw them do this. Erica Barmash has a criminal record. She was arrested of prostitution in 2004, when in college. Her father Ira Barmash is also a convicted felon, armed robbery in 1990. Erica Barmash resides at 193 Clinton Avenue, Apartment 9G, Brooklyn. Lisa Filipek works at Conde Nast. The office address can be found on google. This is a website that records the event: bloomsburycrimeorg.wordpress.com/2023/06/02/bloomsbury-books-is-a-crime-organization/

I used to post here years ago under the name mateff, woke up from a dream with this site in my mind. Amazing to see it's still up. Honestly the amount of nostalgia I'm feeling right now is almost uncomfortable. I posted here when I was 14 or 15 and I just turned 28 last month. Where does the time go? It's so strange to think back how much has changed since those days. Amazing to see some of the old faces still around. I hope you're all well and good. Who has started a family? Who has gone on to pursue their careers? So many emotions are flooding me right now. I want you know that everyone who posted in the old days, you are all marks on the map of my past, waystations on the track to the present. However brief our interactions were, we all helped each other grow in some way. I imagine the Mario Universe had a massive impact on all of our lives in some way, Super Mario RPG taught me to read, for instance. I started drawing to recaputre some of the magic I felt while being immersed in Mario's world. I can bet all of you have corresponding stories. What a thrill it is to type this post, I hope some of you old heads from back in the day feel the same way. SO MUCH LOVE! Please feel free to reach out if you feel like going on a trip dowm memory lane, or the Star Road you can contact me at energyutaware@gmail.com Regards, tiptoptroopa/mateff/Shayn Davis/aimfordatopp

It may be true that Luigi is homosexual, but he is certainly not bisexual. After all, in YI, we see his birth, where he is clearly male. Bisexual is for being attracted to two or more genders!

I feel kind of bad. I can't really think of a reason why people wouldn't want to join besides the fact that...forums just aren't really a popular thing anymore like they were in the mid 2000's
I don't know. Maybe you wanna set up a Tumblr blog where people could submit stuff? A Discord server? Twitter account?

Though I tried, I give up. Not one, not a single person I know seems to want to join this forum. Suits me, I guess, for trying to get friends onto such a niche set of interests.
Besides just going around the web advertising, which I really don't wanna be known for doing (spamming old memes is much better), I am drawing a blank for possible ways to keep this site alive. Apologies, people with hope for it, but such is de wae.
Sure, I'll still stop by now and then to see how things go, because even though I no longer see the need to try myself, doesn't mean hope is dead.
Best of luck.

Ok, so Odyssey is out. To be fair, it does explain quite a bit in terms of geography. There are several large kingdoms across the world, living somewhat secluded besides when necessary for some reason, and the Mushroom Kingdom is one of them.
It's a great game.
...I think.

Heh, weren't we all cringy in our early teens... Still, I can only imagine what this place was like properly populated.
Y'know, I'd really wish I'd be able to get people to go here, but I haven't had any luck so far, so that's all nice. I do suppose rationalizing aspects of Mario canon is a niche interest, so that does make finding people willing to stay here somewhat hard. I'll keep trying, though, until people get tired of me asking. And what, me judge? No worries.
Also Wii White supreme

Oh, how I want the Switch. Oh well, what can you do.
Still gonna watch those YT let's-plays of it, though, it's the best.

My, oh my, a person!
Thanks for the words of encouragement, and I can see your reasoning for not staying. I'll, uh, go get more people then!
It's funny, this isn't the first dead forum I've seen. In fact, I've seen a lot, but this is possibly the only one whose topic properly interested me, enough to try to get it back up.
So, until activity gets back on its metaphorical legs, goodbye.

*rises from the grave*
... *deep breath* Hey, new guy. I've seen your posts pop up in my rss feed several times already. And I just thought I'd share my thoughts.
-Yes, this was a great forum. As far as I know, it was the only one of it's kind that focused almost entirely on the subject of Mariology. -The forum's last real activity was in early 2015, save for a few spambots. Nobody has really posted here since then.
Why? I can't speak for everyone, but when I joined this forum I was 15 years old. I'm 28 now. And while I still love the Mario series to bits, I find I just don't have the time and motivation to be involved with it like I used to. (I still haven't finished PM:Color Splash or M&L: Dream Team)
But I admire your enthusiasm. And considering this forum empty but in decent condition, feel free to go recruit, some new faces to join you here. I'd love to see this place be used again. And if activity picks up, maybe I'll even join you a bit.

Are anyone still there? Anyone at all? I sure hope so.
I notice a few guests pop by the site now and again, and so I'd like to invite you to join this forum. So I'm not alone here.
As for if anyone else that are members happen to stop by, please consider coming by more often again. This is a great forum, not deserving to die like this.
If you are still here, or at least want to be, make a post below or something.

Having gone through the story of SMG got me thinking about Peach's defenses in case of an airship invasion. Does she have cannons? I know Bowser has plenty, both for cannonballs and bullet bills, but does Peach? Surely spears and magic is not nearly sufficient to defend herself if one day the bros. aren't around?
Any examples of, frankly, any advanced weaponry on Peach's side is warmly welcome.

"Never say die", says the trope so commonly used in the Mario franchise. This, however, appears nonchalantly ignored in Paper Jam towards the ending, where before the final battle with Bowser and his paper counterpart, one has another such one with Kamek and his.
In the Mario & Luigi series, a battle traditionally ends with the defeated enemy vanishing in a burst of stars, before exiting the battle. However, after clearing the Kamek boss battle, Mario jumps on the defeated wizard, making him vanish in the same burst of stars, outside of battle. It can be discussed what this implies, but to me it seems pretty certain that Kamek - the paper one too - is dead.
Of course, given how loose Nintendo is with their canon, I doubt they'll follow up on this, and just has him appear in the next game.
Thoughts?

I believe the somewhat ridiculous party locations were mentioned. I didn't bother to read it all, so here are my probably by-now-irrelevant two cents.
MP8 and MPDS were the only ones I played, and those all had mostly reasonable stages. A train, two jungles, a boo-infested mansion, a beach, etc. I'll admit even those games have their weird ones, like Bowser's space station, Bowser's pinball machine, and an urban city complete with a real estate market. Seems sort of out of place.

Hey, I'm new, and unless I've missed it, I haven't seen a thread yet about the very namesake of the Mushroom Kingdom. So here it is!
Firstly, the fact that the mushrooms scattered about the kingdom have eyes, is easily dealt with when considering their then similarity to Toads. I mean, if you find a regular mushroom in the wild, you may (if it isn't poisonous) eat it. If it has eyes, however, or at least something that looks like them, and therefore resembles a Toad, you'd probably think twice before munching on it. Thus, natural selection prefers the mushrooms that won't get otherwise eaten.
Uh, what more? Their effects?

Hey hey, a bit late, but wanted to throw in a few cents.
Firstly, as far as I can tell, Boos definitely are living creatures. Sure, the physics of the Mario universe may be cartoonish, but ghosts? Evident in SMG when Mario with the Boo Shroom gets close to another Boo, it'll approach him, quite clearly under infatuation. Boos experience physical attraction, and as a result "tries to get closer to Mario". Who knows what it'd do hadn't Mario become normal on touch.
They clearly have mass and can be touched, but how they manage to turn invisible and intangible is a mystery. M&L:BIS tells us X-rays might be involved.
They are reclusive, outcasts from the rest of society. Most can't, from the looks of it, stay serious for long, nor do they seem to regularly take a side in the Peach/Bowser dispute. Like, sure, they attack Mario, but have you ever seen them as a formal part of Bowser's military?

Kind of a missed opportunity that Paper Jam didn't let Mario and Luigi enter the book to explore Paper Mario's world.
