Change of plans: For the Wii U instead and no multiplayer.
If they can take a third and final shot at it, here it is:
SUPER MARIO GALAXY 3
Wii U
Of course, it would be just like the other two, many of the same deals from before are retained. This time around, in addition to new galaxies (via world map), the hub is different as well.
Following Bowser's attack on Peach's Castle once again, Mario's later found himself on board a spaceship (to go after Bowser) called the Shooting Star, maintained by a prince (or something similar) named Helio.
And here he is: i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr158/NintendoGallery/helio.png
He's Mario guide this time, allowing him to go around the ship and take control of the helm to set a course for any galaxies available. Some of the rooms in the Shooting Star range from passenger quarters (getting them aboard just like in SMG2 after certain levels) and a power-up testing room (where you can actually practice/experiment with using power-ups with timed challenges).
All the power-ups from before (including the Ice Flower) and even Yoshi (plus his power-up fruits) return. There are two new ones to boot:
Thunder Flower: When Mario gets this, he'll become Thunder Mario. Performing a Spin Move will allow him to release a spherical electric barrier around himself to shock and eliminate any nearby enemies.
It also provides invulnerability to electric attacks from enemies, but steer clear of any water. Contact with water results in damage and loss of the thunder power.
Goomba Trinket: Basically a small magical Goomba statuette on a pedestal. When Mario get this, he'll become Goomba Mario!
This time for him, being squashed has its upsides: Some sort of hammer machine can flatten Goomba Mario, allowing him to walk through very short, narrow passages. Get slammed again by another hammer contraption to revert to normal.
Designs and explanations of other stuff like NPCs, items, and new bosses this time coming later. But one last thing I'll leave here is that Helio seems to have known Rosalina before...
